Alan Ratibb

Alan joined Demo SOS as a director in February 2020, bringing with him 17 years’ experience in the construction sector.

He started his career as a 16-year-old apprentice fire protection engineer working his way through the ranks gaining vast experience as Supervisor, Project Manager finally to the point of Director of his own Project Management & Installation company. Alan had the responsibility to deliver 100’s of projects ranging from £5k to upwards of £5million.

The wealth of experience Alan brings from other sectors of the construction industry has ensured that Demo SOS Ltd are well placed to cover all the Client’s needs within a project.

Alan is based in Colchester enabling Demo SOS Ltd to fully cover the projects in the East and South-East.

Outside work Alan enjoys spending time with his family and is a professional boxer.

Grant says of Alan: –

“I never thought that Alan would leave his career but when Alan mentioned he may be looking for a new challenge I jumped at the chance of offering him a role within the company. Some decisions are no-brainers and this certainly was one of them. Alan has seamlessly changed roles/trades and taken all that experience of running some of the biggest sprinkler system projects in London into running demolition projects like he has been doing it for years”.

Grant Ratibb

Grant started Demo SOS Ltd in 2016. Having worked in both the construction and demolition industry for over 30 years in varying roles from general labourer to estimator and Operations manager for some of the largest companies in the sector he was able to identify the needs of clients which were not being fulfilled by other Demolition contractors. The company ethos was simple-to be on time, reliable and give a good day’s work.

Having already established himself an excellent reputation within the industry prior to launching the company it was only a short time before some of the country’s largest Demolition Contractors contacted Grant offering opportunities to Demo SOS Ltd.

Grant occasionally works on site to ensure the company standards are met and that he fulfils his initial vision to know the people working for him. As the company has grown Grant still holds the company values dear and strives to be the best demolition and strip-out contractor in the country.

Outside Demo SOS Ltd Grant spends time with his family, plays football and supports Spurs.

Operations Director

Steve Hegarty

Steve joined Demo SOS Ltd as Operations Director in late 2016

Steve started in the demolition industry for at the age of sixteen working for DSM as a demolition labourer. He enjoyed travelling around the country working on a variety of small and large sites. While working on demolition sites he had the opportunity to join the asbestos remediation team. He switched from a demolition to an asbestos operative before joining Forest Environmental and worked his way up to site manager running some very complex asbestos removal projects. He was persuaded to come from a long-established business to a new business by Grant, who having worked with him for over 20 years had seen the dedication and potential as the perfect fit for Demo SOS Ltd.

Steve used his extensive contacts list to bring in some trusted workers who had worked with him over the years. He specialises in bringing projects in on time and without incident, ensuring the trusted reputation of Demo SOS Ltd continues through reliability and confidence. As such he is one of the most valuable assets to the Demo SOS Ltd team. With Steve’s expertise Demo SOS Ltd has been able to get repeat business from several clients who know and trust Demo SOS Ltd will carry out their works without any issues.

Grant says of Steve: –

“Steve was the best lad I ever worked with. Although nothing is ever guaranteed I knew that the best way to grow Demo SOS Ltd was to get Steve on board ASAP. I have every confidence that all jobs are run safely and on programme with Steve overseeing them. Long may this continue. We have grown so much in five years I am excited to see where we will be in another five years with Steve’s help”.

Outside work Steve enjoys watching Birmingham City and supporting his boys football and boxing.

Financial Director

Wendy Ratibb

Wendy has been with the company since its inception in 2016, working as an administrator at the start to becoming the current Financial Director. Having graduated from university in 1999 Wendy was a full time Mum to her and Grant’s four children before embarking on a job as a teacher, which she left in 2016 to support Grant in building Demo SOS Ltd. The core family values that Wendy holds are very much in keeping with those held strong by Demo SOS Ltd. Wendy came into the industry with no previous experience either in Demolition or in office-based work, however, has adapted to the role to ensure the Directors and on-site team are fully supported and the smooth running of the company from the ground upwards.

Outside Demo SOS Ltd Wendy loves family time, her dogs and is passionate about animal welfare.

Demolition Manager

Darren Parsons

Daren joined Demo SOS in January 2022.

He brought with him 35 years experience in the Demolition & Construction industries specialising in operating plant, asbestos removal and ground remediation works.
Within that 35 years he has18 years of Management experience in the above sectors.
He is fully experienced in machine demolition of structures from garages to Hi reach demolition of multi-storey buildings.
He has a hands-on approach with good communication skills.
He goes the extra mile to make sure the works are completed to our own very high standards taking into consideration all of the client requirements and programme dates.
Darren’s experience and efforts are wonderful assets and true pleasure to have in our team.
